| There are twelve clubs in the 2007/2008 Guinness Premiership:
Bath Rugby, Bristol Rugby, Gloucester Rugby, Harlequins, Leeds Carnegie, Leicester Tigers, London Irish, London Wasps, Newcastle Falcons, Saracens, Sale Sharks and Worcester Warriors.
During each Guinness Premiership game, points will be awarded as follows:
4 points will be awarded for a win
2 points will be awarded for a draw
1 point will be awarded to a team that loses a match by 7 points or less
1 point will be awarded to a team scoring 4 tries or more in a match
The club that finishes top of the Guinness Premiership table will automatically qualify for the Guinness Premiership Final. The second and third clubs will play against each other for the other finalist position, with the second placed team holding the home advantage.
In addition to the Guinness Premiership Final, the top four clubs who have not automatically qualified for the Heineken Cup enter the Guinness Wildcard, giving clubs a chance to qualify for the final place in the European competition. The team finishing in the highest position plays the team in the lowest position and the teams in the middle play each other. The top teams have the home advantage. The final of the Wildcard competition has previously been held on the same day as the Premiership Final at Twickenham.
