| Falcons boss Steve Bates today hailed Northumberland, having seen them lift the County Championship Shield at Twickenham on Sunday. |
Bates was in the stands as Falcons Development Team players Gavin Beasley, Tim Swinson, Johnny Williams and Rupert Harden helped North to a 25-11 win over Cornwall in the final.
Newcastle director of rugby, Bates, said: "The boys can rightly proud of what was a fantastic effort, and a great advert for North East rugby.
"We have always known what a rich region for talent this has been, but the title is rightful recognition for a great campaign." |
