Openside flanker Williamson made a baptism of fire for the Falcons early in the 2004/5 season when his first team debut came with a start against Leicester's World Cup-winning No.7 Neil Back at Kingston Park.
Two more senior outings followed that season, as well as a string of impressive performances for the Development team, before persistent shoulder problems forced him to sit out the rest of the season and miss out on potential England Under-21 honours, before returning to first team action in the 2007/8 campaign.
Extremely talented at drawing, Williamson's artistic abilities helped win him a scholarship to Barnard Castle School before he joined the Falcons.
