After 18 months out of the game he finally made his comeback against NEC Green Rockets in Tokyo, scoring with his first touch of the ball.
Woods went on to make his mark for the first team throughout the 2005/6 campaign, earning a place on the England Saxons Churchill Cup tour, where he was man of the match against Canada, scoring a try.
