Toby made his Newcastle Falcons first team debut in the 2004/5 season as a fullback against London Wasps, before going on to feature in a further two matches in that campaign.
A business management graduate at Northumbria University, he played fly half for England in the two Under-21 World Cups, having also helped them to a Grand Slam in the Six Nations at that age group.
His former clubs include Morpeth, while he has also represented Northumberland County at senior level.
The 2005/6 campaign saw him add inside centre to his repertoire, as well as his more accustomed position of fly half, while a number of first team appearances included his man-of-the-match showing in the European quarter-final win over Connacht.
In 2006/7 Flood’s sensational form saw him claim the player of the year award, as well as try of the season and a nomination for the Guinness Premiership young player of the year trophy.
His composure under pressure, eye for a gap and ability to outfox even the very best defences make him a dangerous weapon in any side.
