| Saturday saw a sensational victory for Newcastle Falcons in one of the most gruelling competitions in the world of rugby. |
Yes, our very own Flash the Falcon rocked the mascot world by storming to victory in the inaugural Guinness Premiership Mascot Dance Off. After impressing the partisan crowd with his “head-spin” move in the heats, Flash eased past Harley the Harlequin and Bris to claim a spot in the final.
A tense opening number from Charley the Harlequin ruled him out of the reckoning but Sharky came up with an athletic rolley polley move to really put the pressure on a trouser-less flash. Flash, as always rose to the challenge and came up with a tremendous one handed cartwheel to the delight of the now raucous crowd. A frenzy of applause signalled a storming victory for the Newcastle Falcons and indeed the world of mascot dancing.
What seemed like an unbeatable achievement was soon to be bettered as Flash strode out onto the Twickenham pitch.
A brutal game of mascot 7s ensued, Flash breaking the deadlock with an individual stroke of brilliance leading to the first, and undoubtedly most impressive try of the day. |
