Falcons and England fly half Toby Flood
6 March 2007, 1:29 pm
Newcastle director of rugby, John Fletcher, has backed Falcons fly half Toby Flood to fire at Twickenham on Sunday, as he prepares to start for England against France.
The 21-year-old has scored 136 points in his 20 club outings this season, and will win his fifth international cap as he starts in an England team containing fellow Falcon Mathew Tait on the bench.

“I’m delighted for Toby, who fully deserves his call-up,” said Fletcher, whose Falcons side hosts Saracens in Guinness Premiership action this Friday.

“He has been in outstanding form all season and has done well when his chances have come for England.

“I have every confidence that he will put in a strong performance against France, and that he will do Newcastle and England proud.”
