David Wilson emerged victorious
7 February 2007, 2:49 pm
Newcastle Falcons will be hoping to skittle the opposition over in the remainder of the season, and they got in some practice on Wednesday with an inter-club ten pin bowling tournament.
The Falcons squad descended on the Metro Centre Super Bowl complex to hit the lanes and let off steam after returning to training this week.

Top dog with the bowling ball was prop David Wilson, racking up a score of 170 to scoop the title.

There were some interesting techniques on show, including Hall Charlton’s reverse through-the-legs roll and Micky Ward’s bouncing bomb, which did not touch the ground until half way down the lane.

Speaking afterwards, a victorious Wilson said: “I’m from South Shields and there was never much to do there apart from go bowling, so the practice has finally paid off!”
