Falcons commercial director, Mick Hogan, said: “It was always our intention to involve the club’s supporters in such a big decision, and they have made their point very clearly.
“We will now take the results of the poll in to a board meeting to discuss the issue, as well as talking to our other stakeholders, but rest assured the supporters’ voice will be listened to and taken very seriously.
“We introduced Friday night rugby this season for the first time, and indeed our best crowd of the campaign has come on a Friday, but it was always our intention to involve the club’s loyal fans in such a big decision.
“We hope to reach a definitive conclusion in the coming weeks, with an announcement at the end of the month so that everyone knows where they stand going in to the launch of season tickets for the 2007/8 campaign.”
