Falcons No.8 Phil Dowson

England Saxons No.8 Phil Dowson makes an eagerly-awaited return to action on Monday night, as Newcastle Falcons host Leeds Tykes in the Guinness A League at Kingston Park.
Dowson has been sidelined since October 15 with a ruptured bicep tendon, but is one of three back rowers making comebacks on the night from long term injuries.

He is joined in the Newcastle squad by Eni Gesinde and Ed Williamson, both themselves on the mend after operations.

Director of rugby, John Fletcher, said: “Phil has worked extremely hard in his rehab, shown great character, and we’re all excited about the prospect of having him fit again.

“He will start the game and the plan is for him to get 40 minutes, while Ed and Eni will also come on from the bench as they make their return from injury.”

Kick-off at Kingston Park is at 7pm, with free entry for all supporters.
