| Having consulted supporters via an online poll, eight of the Falcons’ 12 home games will be played at 3pm on Sundays.
Commercial director Mick Hogan said: “Our fans expressed a desire for a return to Sunday afternoon rugby this season, and our fixture list reflects the fact that we have taken their feedback on board.
“We have retained two Friday night fixtures which will be on October 5 against Leeds Carnegie and February 29 against London Wasps, both at 8pm, and we believe this provides the right mix to cater for the increasing and varied number of supporters who enjoy rugby at Kingston Park.
“The Leeds game was chosen as a Friday match because Newcastle United are at home on the Sunday of that weekend which traditionally affects our attendance, and it is also the same weekend as the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals which England could potentially be involved in.
“The two Friday games will have the same lively night time carnival atmosphere that we have seen work well for us in big matches, while we also have two Saturday games scheduled, versus Harlequins on September 29 and Newport Gwent Dragons on November 3.
“The reason for the Harlequins game being on a Saturday is that the Great North Run takes place on the Sunday of that weekend, so to avoid clashing with such a major event we have taken the decision to play a day earlier. The 6pm kick-off time will allow local rugby players and supporters to get to Kingston Park after their own games, and for many others will provide a fitting start to their Saturday night festivities.
“The Newport Gwent Dragons game moves purely because of TV commitments, with the match being shown live on S4C in their traditional Saturday 5.30pm slot on November 3. Our only other confirmed home TV game is against Bath on October 21. This remains as a Sunday fixture, but with kick-off at the slightly earlier time of 2pm.”
Meanwhile, the club is still awaiting the European Challenge Cup fixtures from tournament organisers ERC, having been drawn in a pool with Irish province Connacht, French club Brive and Spaniards Cetransa El Salvador.
Falcons season tickets are selling well and are still available by calling 0871 226 60 60. Adult prices start from £168 for 14 games, consisting of all 11 Guinness Premiership and three European Challenge Cup matches.
