| The event takes place on Friday September 14, and combines an evening of touch rugby with the big screen showing of the England v South Africa match from the Rugby World Cup, all in aid of a great cause.
Proceeds from the evening will go to the Falcons Community Foundation (registered charity number 1107851) with the main event being the 20-team touch rugby world cup.
Games will be six a side, from a squad of ten players including both men and women. Previous rugby experience is not necessary as this inclusive form of the game is open to players of all ages and abilities.
The evening will start at 5pm with the final at 7.30pm, allowing time for everyone to get inside and watch the big match which kicks off at 8.00pm. Teams entering the tournament will receive:
* Minimum four games of touch rugby per team.
* Optional training session on the Monday before the tournament for all players new to touch rugby.
* Involvement by the Falcons first team players on the evening.
* Ten T-shirts in the colours of the country you will be representing.
* Chilli and Rice for all players at the end of the tournament, before the England v South Africa game kicks off.
* Private party with big screen, bar open and awards presentation of the ‘Touch World Cup’ at half time of the England v South Africa game.
* Ten tickets for the Newcastle Falcons v Sale Sharks opening game of the Guinness Premiership on Sunday 16th September (tickets worth £17 each).
The cost per team is £300 with all the monies raised going to the Falcons Community Foundation to keep its award-winning Tackle Learning project running to its full capacity.
For the past three years 25 schools across Tyne and Wear have received rugby based lessons, coaching and a visit from first team players in order to improve children’s attainment levels. Typically the schools chosen are ones that would not usually get such opportunities. Over 60% of the children involved qualify for free school meals and via Tackle Learning they are gaining new experiences that are having an incredibly positive effect. The results have been incredible
