| The England Under-19s man shone at both fullback and centre at Campo Pepe Rojo, saying afterwards: “I was delighted with how my first full game for the club went.
“It was a big step for me after a couple of late cameos in the last few weeks, but to get out there from the start and contribute to a good performance like that was a real personal high.”
Alex's man-of-the-match performance even put older brother Mathew in the Spanish shade, with Tait senior stating: “I'm really chuffed for Alex, because he's worked hard and he deserves it.
“I thought he played well today, and if he keeps progressing like he has been then he has a great future ahead of him.”
With the brothers starting their first game together for the Falcons, Mathew said: “The last time we started a game together was for Consett Under-8s, so it's been a long time coming!
“We used to be very competitive when we were younger but I think that has kind of changed now just to being supportive of each other, and so it's great to see Alex making that step up to first team level and doing himself proud.”
