| One of the most famous bearded faces in Britain, Durham resident Bellamy is a big rugby fan, and will be on hand to judge the finest facial fuzz on show at Kingston Park as the Falcons hosts its first ever 'Battle of the Beards'.
He linked up with Falcons prop Johnny Williams this week in the build-up to National Geordie Beard Day, which is tomark the home debut of All Black prop Carl Hayman and is raising funds for the Wooden Spoon in the process.
A number of Falcons have shown their support by growing beards for the occasion, including director of rugby John Fletcher, for a day which sees the European Challenge Cup visit of Irish province, Connacht.
Backing for the beard day has come from as far afield as Royal Navy waters, with HMS Superb demonstrating their support, while all Falcons fans have their chance to join in with stick-on beards on sale on match day with proceeds going to charity.
Tickets for Sunday's game are available by clicking here, calling 0871 226 60 60 or popping to Kingston Park during office hours and match day itself.
