| Newcastle players will make up a third of the England Saxons team in Italy on Saturday, with Falcons prop Jon Golding having been added to the starting XV. |
Five of the 15 players starting the match in Sicily are from Newcastle Falcons, while hooker Andy Long also lies in wait on the bench.
Golding's promotion to the starting XV comes as a result of Jason Hobson being called up to the full England Six Nations squad.
The Falcons, of course, have four representatives in that squad with Toby Flood, Jonny Wilkinson and Jamie Noon all starting against Italy in Rome, while Mathew Tait is named on the bench.
