| Newcastle Falcons wing John Rudd will be in Sevens action in Newquay this weekend, as the KooGa Wailers kick off their 2008/9 season. |
Rudd takes the place of fellow Falcon Tim Visser, who misses the tournament due to food poisoning.
Falcons junior academy manager Mark Laycock, who will also coach the Wailers, said: "Ruddy called me to say he was extremely keen to play some Sevens as part of his training for the new season, and with Tim having to withdraw from the squad for Newquay we are fortunate to have such a quality replacement."
