| Newcastle Falcons flanker Alex Gray has been named England Under-18s captain, despite being a year young. |
The Barnard Castle pupil departed today for a four-match tour of Argentina, having been handed the honour of skippering the squad.
Gray toured Australia with England Under-18s last summer two years young, and this season helped them to a Grand Slam at that age group.
He Skippers an England squad containing fellow Falcons Tom Catterick, Rory Clegg and Will Welch.
Newcastle junior academy manager, Mark Laycock, said: "I'm enormously proud of Alex.
"Captaining your country at any level is a massive honour, but to be handed such a role despite being a year young at that age group just goes to demonstrate what a fantastic role model he is for his peers." |
