| Home Dates Announced For 2008/9 Season |

| Newcastle Falcons has announced the dates and times of its home games in the Guinness Premiership and EDF Energy Cup for the 2008/9 season. |
The club is sticking with its preference for predominantly Sunday afternoon kick-offs for league fixtures, with Friday night slots for four Guinness Premiership and two EDF Energy Cup pool games.
Falcons commercial director, Mick Hogan, said: ?We had always earmarked three Friday night games in the Guinness Premiership, which will be against London Wasps, Saracens and Leicester.
?In addition the fact that we have a midweek game away at Gloucester on October 1 has meant that, for team preparation reasons, we have had to switch the home match with Bristol to Friday September 27 in order to give the players maximum recovery time between matches.
?Other than one game during the Christmas period all of our other Guinness Premiership home matches will be played on Sunday afternoons, unless otherwise instructed by Sky Sports for live broadcasting reasons.
?Our two EDF Energy Cup home games against Gloucester and London Wasps will both be Friday night fixtures, which allows us more scope for promotional opportunities. We will also be offering season ticket holders special discounts for these fixtures, with details to be announced nearer the time.
?We are still awaiting dates for the three European Challenge Cup pool games against Overmach Parma, Brive and Cetransa El Salvador, but these matches will all be played on Sunday afternoons unless TV commitments dictate otherwise.?
