Falcons No.8 Alex Gray captained England to victory
24 July 2008, 11:23 am
Newcastle Falcons No.8 Alex Gray scored one of England's six tries at Casi Club Athletic San Isidro on Wednesday, as he captained the national Under-18s side to a 39-19 victory over Buenos Aires.
Gray was one of four Falcons in the side, with Will Welch, Tom Catterick and Rory Clegg all starting the game as England made it two from two on their Argentinean tour.

Fly half Clegg added a penalty and two conversions as he played the full 80 minutes, with the next match coming on Sunday as they face Mendoza.

Speaking after Wednesday's victory, skipper Gray said: “This was a good game, but we did lack precision at times.

"They were what we expected and certainly good in the scrum, but now we have got to turn our attentions to Mendoza.
"We are lucky enough to have England Coach Mike Ford delivering a defence session on Friday, so we are all looking forward to learning a lot from that too.”
