| The Falcons Community Foundation offers a wide range of activities, centred predominantly on schools and rugby clubs. The award-winning initiative was highly commended by the British Parliament in 2006 for its citizenship values, and has won a number of national accolades for its continual success.
In 2006 Newcastle Falcons first team player, Joe Shaw, was voted the Powergen Community player of the year for his efforts in promoting the game to the local region, as just one of the players involved in the Falcons Community Foundation effort.
The area we work in covers Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Each year the community programme makes contact with over 25,000 people, and the first team players make more than 400 visits into the local community as part of this.
