| The Falcons Academy consists of 3 levels. The Senior Academy squad train full-time, play for the development team and are in contention for first team selection. Associate Academy players train on a part-time basis and play most of their rugby for universities or clubs. Beneath this (at U17 and U18) is our Junior Academy. These players have effectively entered into a long-term development programme aimed at helping them reach their full playing potential. They can expect:
• Individual training programs
• Lifestyle management and mentoring
• Access to the conditioning coach and physiotherapist
• Fitness testing to monitor physical development
• Additional sessions for specific groups of players
From 2007-08, Constituent Body Schools of Rugby (SoR) replace the county system and junior academy for U13-U16 age groups. These involve a core curriculum being delivered across the year with an emphasis on player development. The Falcons Academy staff oversee the process and are responsible for quality delivery and identifying talented players who may be selected to attend Elite Player Development Group (EPDG) sessions during the summer months.
