I was a new season ticket holder this year who decided to spend £200 on an East Stand ticket, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in this stand but it seems to have come to an end.
I am not the wealthiest man nor have a good paid job but I was willing to pay a little extra for next year’s ticket to remain in this stand but not £200 extra. How can this be justified by the club? You had a stand which was sold out this year and going be dead next year. I know at least four of us who will not be renewing in that stand, if at all.
Well to be honest i cant see anyone wanting to pay that sort of money!! i would of been happy to pay upto the £250 mark but thats the top end of what i can afford.

Not privvy to what you paid last time round but a £200 hike is excessive in the extreme, can only sympathise.
I'll renew before the deadline but perhaps the most pertinent question is are these prices still applicable if , god forbid , we're looking at playing the likes of Exeter, Plymouth, Rotherham etc ( no disrepect intended)?
I remain forever the optomist, but if the worst happened, I wouldn't expect to pay nearly £300 to watch championship rugby.

To be fair the East Stand was made very cheap in a deal with the Uni I believe for last season but they are prime seats at end terrace pricing , it is a massive increase but brings them up to the mark you would expect for seats in that position.
It is a big increase to find but hope it kind of makes sense to some although understand why some woll be annoyed.
I understand what you mean! But last season that stand was near on empty every game, the club lowered the price it sold out. I was never expecting it to be anywhere near the same price but i would of been happy paying upto £250 at a strech evan £300, like i believe many in the stand would be. I think its going end up like last season a handful of fans in.
I have decided to join the South Stand faithful for next year.

How do others feel on this matter??

Same here i am in shock, i thought prices would go up but how can the justify nearly a 100% rise in price after watching the garbage we have all season. There is no way i will be paying that so it means a change of stand or not renewing. Two words 'credit crunch' how can they do this- i can see most people not renewing with prices like that. If we were top six and making a push for next season you could see why, if they brung in some world class talent i could see why, but it will be some alsorans signing up and thanks for your money
Just got in from work and found out about the ticket price increase. I take on board comments about the increase in line with seat position in the stadium. However the facilities in the east stand do not reflect the price increase. with a 84.7% increase on two adult tickets and 93% increase on a junior ticket thats three more fans leaving the east stand. I am in retail and i know if i put up my prices by these margins i would soon be out of business. And the club stating the prices are lower than previous years and the increase is due to vat, I was under the impression vat went up 2%. In my opinion the club has dropped a clanger yet again and the east stand will be empty next season. what a shame, Looks like three more move to the south stand .
So the club think it is ok for my season ticket to go from £189 to £384 a £195 pound increase in a credit crunch, to me this shows how inept, poorly run the club is, and how they take supporters for granted. Fair enough £250 ish but sorry £195 is purely extortionate

Thanks macaz - pressure from us fans has had an effect. Apparently this season the East Stand seats were discounted by 50% under a partnership with the Uni and as I understand it, should not have been available to the general public at the discounted price. That partnership is not being continued for next season. Therefore we got a bargain!
I hope that the club will at least meet us half way.

Well as I said on another post I would have to think long and hard about renewing my East Stand seat for next season. In my case, a concession, an increase of 82% for someone on a pension is not a sustainable proposition. As I cannot attend night games it means an unacceptable hike in the cost of watching (this year) some pretty drab rugby for the matches I have attended, who knows what improvement there would be next year to justify this increase.

I'm pleased they are checking the prices.
A quick calculation tells me that based on this season's home games (not inc friendlies) the avergage gate has been 5,497 which is a pitifull 54% of the stadium capacity.
Now then, there's a lot to be said about canny marketing and team performance but surely a reduction in price would see a substantial increase in gate, or is it simply chicken and egg time in that a smaller number of fans paying more can generate the same income as a larger following paying slightly less.
Either way, surely a small drop in price would see an increased attendance - get your numbers in first, THEN charge them premium!
I'd be very interested to see what the forward financial planning looks like - poor i imagine ....
